A department store that represents Kumamoto. I visited for the prepared food section in the basement. I was surprised that it was very cheap compared to the side dishes in Tokyo. The price may be about half. There are many types available for sale. As a result, I bought rolled sushi etc.I think it is a conscientious department store that is closely linked to the local community.

I just had a fantastic lunch at a restaurant inside! The host was so welcoming and even placed me in a better seat that opened up, with a view of their Japanese garden. The food was delicious and great value for the soba and tempura set meal I ordered. But most importantly the host and staff made me feel so welcome and happy. I have visited Kumamoto twice and plan to come back to this department store and restaurant again! See my attached photos for the name and menu. Restaurant is on the seventh level of the main building There are a couple of buildings connected so if you have difficulty please ask information so ensure you are in the right building. The department store itself is very nice and full service, with a helpful information desk at the main entrance and even actual elevator staff who provide info and operate the elevator for you! If you are someone who values that level of service and consideration in business, i would definitely pay a visit to Kumamoto and to Tsuruya!

After a long time, I went shopping in Yuheim, Tsuruya. I did a little troublesome buying, but the clerk in charge didn't give me a disgusting face, and he responded carefully and quickly, really well.
